March 1 through May 31: National online entry is open. Entries will be posted to the Santa Margherita website for viewing and comments as they are received.
June 1 through June 14: A panel of judges will assign each entry a score (based on the Contest Rules) out of 100 possible points.
June 15 through July 15: All entries with 70 or more points will be posted to the website and made available for public voting. The three entries with the most votes at the end of the voting period will be chosen to compete in the Great Taste Challenge Finale in Chicago. All entries with scores below 70 will remain on the website for viewing and comments only, these entries will not receive public voting and are no longer eligible to earn a position at the Finale event.
September 25: The Great Taste Challenge Finale will be held at the Chicago Gourmet Festival.
In all the video recipe entries we’ve received for The Great Taste Challenge and then had to (agonizingly) narrow down to the best of the best…here is one that tugs at the heart and the palate.
Watch as mom and daughters prepare Japanese Sea Scallops in their kitchen…and watch as mom shows her love of food off to these adorable young ones. (And then hopefully you’ll see why we are so proud to be having this yearly food and wine pairing event!)
As always, all of the other semi finalists in The 2010 Great Taste Challenge also want you to view their entries so be sure to check them all out…knowing you can vote up to three times a day!
Well, the voting for the 2010 Great Taste Challenge is fast paced to say the least. This wonderful food and wine pairing contest seems to have bought out the “foodie” in so many, it’s just so much fun to watch!
And that is exactly what makes this contest so much fun.
